Pork - Apple - Kraut - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 to 5 center cut pork chops
2 lb. pkg. sauerkraut
3 tart apples (McIntosh or Granny Smith)
powdered cinnamon
ground pepper
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Trim fat from pork chops.
If 1/2-inch thick, cut chops in half.
Brown meat in skillet on all sides; remove to a casserole.
Add a dash of pepper on each piece.
Drain sauerkraut and rinse quickly with cold water, then place in skillet and stir around to absorb the meat drippings for flavor.
Wash and core the apples, but leave the skin on.
Cut into rings approximately 1/2-inch thick.
Layer in casserole the pork, sauerkraut and top with apple rings.
Sprinkle each apple lightly with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Cover and bake about 1 hour.
