Banana Bread - cooking recipe

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
1 c. mashed, ripe bananas
2 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. nuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix well the sugar, shortening and egg. Stir in milk and bananas.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir banana mixture into batter.
Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Let stand 20 minutes before baking.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 70 minutes.
Done when toothpick inserted comes out clean.
