Heavenly Fudge Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 sq. baking chocolate
    1/2 c. margarine (2 sticks)
    2 3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 can evaporated milk (1 2/3 c. )
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt chocolate and margarine in top of double boiler.
    Combine sugar and salt; slowly add 1/2 cup at a time, alternating with 1/2 cup or so of the milk at a time; mix thoroughly.
    Add vanilla. Cook about 8 minutes (or until sauce begins to thicken).
    Keeps well in refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks.
