Banana Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
2 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites
1/4 c. sugar
1 (9-inch) baked shell
2 bananas, sliced (2 1/2 c.)
Preparation

In medium saucepan, combine the 1/3 cup sugar with the cornstarch and salt.
Blend in milk and then egg yolks.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
Remove from heat; stir in butter or margarine and vanilla.
Cool to room temperature.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into egg yolk mixture.
In pastry shell, alternate layers of banana slices and cream filling.
Cover and chill.
Top with whipped cream and additional sliced bananas to serve.
