Blackberry Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    3 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    2 c. blackberries and juice
    nuts (optional)
    raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Blend shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Sift cinnamon, cloves and flour.
    Add soda to blackberries.
    Add to mixture alternately with flour mixture.
    Add nuts and raisins.
    Pour into 2 (9-inch) layer pans.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
    Frost with favorite icing.
