Grandma'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. (4 1/2 c.) flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. mace
1 lb. butter
1 lb. brown sugar
10 eggs, well beaten
1 c. molasses
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1 lb. sliced dates
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. currants
1/2 lb. citron
1/2 lb. candied orange and lemon peel
1/2 lb. chopped walnuts
1 c. honey
1/2 c. sweet cider
Preparation

Sift the flour once; measure.
Add baking powder and spices; sift 3 more times.
Cream the shortening; add sugar and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, fruits, nuts, honey, molasses and cider.
Add flour gradually.
Put in 5 well-greased loaf pans. Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
