Holiday Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 apples, cored and chopped
    1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 bag fresh cranberries, ground
    juice and pulp of 2 oranges
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
    1/2 c. sugar
    9 large, ripe cucumbers
    1/3 c. salt
    4 c. vinegar
    4 c. sugar *
    2 Tbsp. mixed, whole pickling spices
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    *We have used 1/2 white and 1/2 brown.
    Makes a different tasting pickle.
