Congo Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 box light brown sugar
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 (6 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
    3 eggs
    chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt together margarine and brown sugar.
    Cool mixture to room temperature.
    Add eggs, one at a time, blending with margarine and sugar.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add dry to wet mixture. Stir in chips and nuts.
    Pour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Toothpick check for last 5 minutes.
