Date Nut Pinwheels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2/3 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, pitted and diced
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. lemon peel
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Combine dates, sugar and water.
    Cook about 3 minutes or until thickened.
    Remove from heat.
    Add lemon peel and chopped walnuts. Divide dough in half and roll each half into an 8 x 10-inch rectangle.
    Spread with half of date mixture.
    Roll into jelly type roll and refrigerate for 8 hours. Slice about 1/2-inch thick and bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
