Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    2 c. white Karo
    2 sticks oleo
    2 c. raw peanuts
    Pinch of salt
Preparation
    Blend well and stir constantly over burner until thermometer reaches 310\u00b0 or hard crack mark on candy thermometer.
    Remove from burner, stirring constantly, and add one heaping teaspoon baking soda and 2 tsp. vanilla.
    Stir briskly until thoroughly blended. Pour mixture on to a buttered cookie sheet or buttered foil. Allow to cool until tacky to touch.
    Dump and stretch with hands. Allow to cool completely, then crack with back of big spoon.
