Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dates, cut up
    2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. butter
    3 eggs, well beaten
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water and baking soda over dates; cool.
    Cream butter, sugar and eggs and add to date mixture.
    Sift and measure dry ingredients.
    Mix with other ingredients.
    Add vanilla and stir in walnuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Makes 2 loaves.
