Never-Fail Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 lb. raw peanuts
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in a Dutch oven; cook over low heat until mixture spins a thread (230\u00b0 to 234\u00b0).
    Add peanuts; cook to soft crack stage (about 290\u00b0), stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter, soda and salt; mix well.
    Spread mixture thinly onto 2 warm, buttered 15 x 10 x 1-inch jellyroll pans.
    Cool and break into pieces.
    Yield:
    About 2 pounds.
