Maple Flavored Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. butter
    2 c. dark corn syrup
    1 (14 oz.) can evaporated milk
    2 tsp. maple flavoring
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
    1 1/2 c. coconut
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, milk and maple flavoring in large, heavy saucepan.
    Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
    Add nuts and coconut; increase heat.
    Cook to soft ball stage, stirring constantly.
    Add vanilla.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Beat until mixture loses its gloss.
    Pour into buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
