Danish Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. orange juice in 1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. orange rind
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. nuts (pecans)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; beat in 1 egg at a time. Sift flour with soda and salt. Add alternately with milk and orange juice. Add orange rind, vanilla, dates and nuts. Bake at 325\u00b0 in tube pan 1 hour or until done. Put topping on cake slowly while hot.
