Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter or Crisco
1 1/2 lb. brown sugar
8 eggs
1 1/2 lb. flour (about 8 c.)
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. seeded raisins
1 lb. currants
1 lb. mixed fruit cake mix
1 lb. citron, shredded
1 lb. figs
1 lb. dates
1/2 c. molasses or dark Karo
1 c. apple sauce or any kind of preserves (strawberry or cherry)
1/2 c. sweet milk
1 c. sherry wine
Preparation

Mix everything together and bake in a well-greased and floured pan, lined with heavy paper.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 4 hours.
