Pierogie Casserole With Kraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 potatoes, mashed with milk (may use instant potatoes)
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 1/4 c. butter or oleo
    3/4 lb. grated sharp cheese
    1 lb. cooked lasagne noodles
    1 (27 oz.) can sauerkraut, well drained
Preparation
    Mash potatoes with milk.
    Saute onions in butter.
    Add 1/3 of onion and butter mixture to 3/4 of cheese.
    Add to potato mixture. Butter a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Place layer of noodles, layer of potato mixture and layer of sauerkraut.
    Repeat, ending with noodles on top.
    Pour remaining butter and onion mixture over top. Add remaining cheese.
