Date Swirls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. dates
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1/3 c. water
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Combine first 7 ingredients.
    Beat well.
    Roll dough about 1/4-inch thick.
    Mix dates, lemon juice, water and sugar.
    Cook together 5 minutes.
    Add the chopped nuts to date mixture.
    Spread over cookie dough.
    Roll up like a jelly roll.
    Wrap in wax paper. Leave in refrigerator overnight.
    Slice and bake in 350\u00b0 oven until lightly browned.
