Saucy Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 egg
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. water
    3/4 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. raisins
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Beat 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar and the softened margarine at medium speed until blended.
    Stir together flour and next 5 ingredients.
    Add to sugar mixture alternately with 1/2 cup water, beginning and ending with flour mixture, beating at low speed until blended.
    Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
    Spoon into a lightly greased 8-inch square pan.
    Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup brown sugar.
    Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over top.
    Do not stir.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
    Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
    Recipe may be doubled.
    Bake in a 9 x 13 pan for 50 minutes.
