Christmas Date Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

9-inch unbaked pastry shell
1 2/3 c. evaporated milk
3 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
2 Tbsp. fine dry bread crumbs
3/4 c. shredded coconut
1 c. cut up dates
1/3 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Arrange dates evenly on bottom of pie shell.
Combine the next 10 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Beat with a rotary beater until well blended.
Stir in coconut.
Pour into pie shell over dates. Bake in preheated oven at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes, then reduce oven to 325\u00b0 and bake 25 minutes longer.
Cool before serving.
