Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    2 green peppers, sliced thin
    3 onions, sliced and broken into rings
    3 cloves garlic
    1/3 c. salt
    3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Put cucumbers, peppers, onions, salt and garlic into ice water for 1 1/2 hours.
    Boil sugar, turmeric, celery seed, mustard seed and vinegar to a boil, then add drained pickles.
    Stir off heat until they turn different color.
    Put in sterilized jars, turn upside down and leave until sealed.
