Vanilla Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. pudding mix
    2 1/2 c. warm water
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Combine the mix with the water in top of double boiler.
    Place over boiling water; cook until thick.
    Cover and cook 10 minutes or longer.
    Add butter.
    Add several spoonfuls of pudding to beaten egg; mix with remaining hot mixture.
    Cook over hot water a little longer.
    Remove from heat and cool.
    Add vanilla.
    May be filling for pies or cakes; also may be served as a plain pudding.
