Icicle Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. cucumbers, cut lengthwise
    1 gal. boiling water
    1 pt. salt
Preparation
    To 1 quart of cucumbers, put 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon salt and not quite a pint of vinegar.
    Finish filling the jar with water.
    Seal and shake the jar until sugar and water are well mixed.
    Put in hot water bath until the cucumbers change color. They do not have to boil.
