Turnip Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. turnips, pared and sliced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2/3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cook turnips in boiling water until tender; drain thoroughly. Melt butter in saucepan.
    Add flour, salt and pepper.
    Add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
    Combine sauce and turnips; pour into a casserole.
    Top with cheese; bake in a 350\u00b0 oven until hot and bubbly.
