Noodles Alfredo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salt
    4 to 6 qt. water
    1 lb. medium egg noodles
    1/2 lb. butter, softened
    2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
    1/2 c. heavy cream, at room temperature
Preparation
    Add salt to rapidly boiling water.
    Gradually add noodles so water continues to boil.
    Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until tender.
    Drain in colander.
    Slowly melt butter in a large skillet; add noodles and toss gently.
    Add cheese and toss again. Pour cream in and toss again.
    Sprinkle with pepper, if desired. Serve in a hot 2-quart casserole dish.
    Serves 6 to 8.
