Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease 8 x 8-inch square cake pan.
    Melt butter or shortening over low heat or in microwave.
    Add brown sugar.
    Cool.
    Stir in egg.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to sugar mixture.
    Stir in vanilla and nuts.
    Bake about 25 minutes.
    Cut while still warm.
