Pineapple Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. cooked rice
    2 c. crushed pineapple with juice
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. butter
Preparation
    Place pineapple and juice in saucepan. Add sugar and butter. Simmer (low) until thin syrup stage. Remove from heat. Add nutmeg, if desired. In buttered baking dish, layer rice and sauce. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes, until lightly browned. Excellent with chicken casserole or pork. Serves 8.
