Quick Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. sliced onion
    1/2 c. potatoes, diced
    1 c. shredded cabbage
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. cut up celery
    1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
    1/4 c. rice
    2 cans beef bouillon
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute ground beef and onion in large kettle until browned.
    Add potatoes, cabbage, carrots, celery, tomato juice, rice and bouillon with 1 1/2 cups water to beef mixture; season with basil, thyme, bay leaf, salt and pepper.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Simmer, covered, for 1 hour or until vegetables are tender.
