Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
3 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1 well beaten egg
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 Tbsp. caraway seed
Preparation

Rub shortening into flour with sugar, baking powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt.
Add well beaten egg, buttermilk, raisins and caraway seed.
Knead on a floured board and bake in a round glass casserole dish with cross cut in top of dough.
Bake 1 hour at 375\u00b0.
Delicious served warm with butter and jams.
