Easy Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
    1 c. milk
    4 c. sliced fresh peaches
Preparation
    Melt butter in a 2-quart Pyrex baking dish or casserole.
    Stir together flour and 1 cup sugar.
    Add milk and mix well.
    Pour into butter.
    Stir gently.
    Add peaches that have been tossed with remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
    Do not stir.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
