Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. regular oats, uncooked
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. rice cereal or 1/2 c. crushed cornflakes
1/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream sugar, brown sugar, butter, oil, egg and vanilla in a large bowl.
Mix well.
Combine flour, salt, soda and cream of tarter and add to creamed mixture, mixing until well blended. Stir in cereal, oatmeal and nuts.
Shape into 1 inch balls.
Place on greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
Flatten with fork, Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12-15 minutes.
Makes about 5 1/2 dozen.
