Gloucester Fish Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. diced fat salt pork
    3/4 c. sliced onions
    3 c. hot water
    2 c. sliced potatoes
    1 1/2 lb. fillet haddock/cod or ocean perch
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    4 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter/margarine
Preparation
    Fry out salt pork in saucepan until crisp and delicately browned.
    Add onions.
    Saute slowly.
    Add water and potatoes.
    Cook 10 minutes, then add fish.
    Cook until tender.
    Add seasonings, milk and butter.
    Bring just to boiling point.
    Serves 4 to 6.
