Mom'S Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 to 2 lb. stew meat
4 c. stewed tomatoes in juice
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic
1 medium onion, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
dash of allspice or cloves
6 carrots, cut in chunks
4 to 5 potatoes, peeled and quartered
several pearl onions
Preparation

Coat chunks (your desired size) of stew meat in flour and brown in approximately 2 tablespoons canola oil.
Add remaining ingredients in order given.
Stir to combine.
Cover.
Simmer (don't boil) for 2 hours.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Remove bay leaves and garlic.
Add carrots, potatoes and onion. Cover and cook 30 minutes more until vegetables are cooked.
May thicken with flour, if desired.
