English Scones For Tea Time - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine
    3/4 c. raisins
Preparation
    Blend flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt with butter or margarine with fingers.
    Sprinkle through raisins.
    Mix together with buttermilk.
    Save a little to brush tops.
    Roll out 1/2-inch thick; cut into rounds.
    Brush tops with milk.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 6 or 7 minutes.
    Turn; bake approximately 3 minutes more. Serve with butter and jam if desired.
