Ingredients

3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

In a large bowl, stir together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter or margarine for 30 seconds.
Add the sugar and beat until fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, milk and vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients and beat until just mixed.
Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden.
Cool on a wire rack.
