Ingredients

2 c. milk
2 c. thin sliced apples
1/3 c. cornmeal
3/4 c. dark molasses
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 beaten egg
Preparation

Combine milk and apples in top of double boiler.
Bring to a boil over direct heat.
Remove from heat and stir in cornmeal. Cook over boiling water for 15 minutes.
Add molasses and cook another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in remaining ingredients and bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Set buttered casserole (not over 1/2 full) in a pan of hot water.
Bake at 350\u00b0.
