Ingredients

3/4 lb. bread crumbs
1 lb. butter
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. currants
1/4 lb. citron
1/4 lb. orange peel
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. mace
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
8 eggs
1 c. whiskey
1 c. wine
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Mix well the dry ingredients with butter (except flour and soda).
Beat eggs well and add whiskey and wine.
Mix well. Last, add flour and soda, sifted.
Mix.
Makes about 6 pounds. Boil 8 to 10 hours.
Place mixture in coffee cans; set in boiling water.
It's an all day affair.
May be topped with brandy and taken to the table flaming.
Serve with Hard Sauce.
