Minestrone Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. water, chicken broth, vegetable broth or wine
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 c. chopped fresh or low-sodium tomato sauce
    1 c. home-cooked or canned kidney or lima beans
    3 1/2 c. water
    2 c. chopped broccoli
    1 1/2 c. chopped fresh or frozen spinach
    1 c. diced carrots
    1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
    3/4 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1 bay leaf
    pinch of dried oregano leaves
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 c. dry elbow macaroni
Preparation
    Heat water in a large pot over medium heat.
    Add onion, celery and garlic.
    Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Add more water, if needed.
