Erath County Pecan Pie(Stephenville, Texas) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
    1 c. sugar
    2/3 c. cream
    1 c. broken pecans
    4 egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Pour into pie shell.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Remove from oven.
    Add meringue and return to oven to brown.
    For meringue use 4 egg whites and a pinch of salt.
    Beat until frothy.
    Add 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.
    Beat until mixture holds soft peaks. Add 8 tablespoons sugar gradually.
    Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
