Glaze Icing For Tube Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. milk
    1/4 c. solid shortening
    5 or 6 shakes salt (from salt shaker)
    flavoring as desired (vanilla, orange, etc.)
Preparation
    Put all in saucepan. Bring to rolling boil and boil for 1 minute.
    Remove
    from
    heat
    and
    place
    pan in sink of cold water. It
    will
    turn
    white
    syrup
    color. Beat and stir with spoon until it turns white and thick enough to glaze cake.
