Crock-Pot Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions, thinly sliced
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
    2 cloves garlic, cut up
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 to 2 tsp. oregano leaves
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. celery seed (optional)
    1/4 c. dry white wine (optional)
Preparation
    Place sliced onions in bottom of crock-pot.
    Add chicken pieces, minced garlic, tomato paste, tomatoes, salt, pepper, herbs and white wine (optional). Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours. (High 3 to 4 hours.)
    Serve chicken pieces with sauce over hot buttered spaghetti or vermicelli.
