Old Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter (2 c.)
    2 c. sugar
    10 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 lb. seedless raisins
    4 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Work flour until mealy.
    Beat egg yolks, sugar and vanilla until thick and fluffy.
    Add baking powder, salt and raisins.
    (Cook raisins in water until soft. Drain before adding to mixture.)
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in baking pan lined with wax paper.
    Always grease the pan before putting wax paper.
