Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture very gradually.
Roll out on a pastry cloth and cut in desired shapes. Cookie press may be used.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until light brown, about 8 minutes.
May be sprinkled with sugar prior to baking.
