Sweet Pickles(Bread And Butter) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cukes
    9 medium onions
    2 green peppers
    3 small cloves garlic
    5 c. sugar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/3 c. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    3 c. cider vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Put cukes, onions, peppers and garlic in a large container. Cover with ice; mix several times.
    Allow to stand 3 hours.
    (Same thing can be accomplished by refrigeration of cukes overnight before slicing.)
    Drain well; combine remaining ingredients and pour over the cukes.
    Heat just to a boil; seal in hot jars, or chill and serve.
