Brandied Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. firm ripe peaches
    5 c. sugar
    5 c. water
    brandy
Preparation
    Rub fuzz from peaches with a coarse towel.
    Mix sugar and water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil.
    Add peaches and simmer for 5 minutes.
    Drain peaches.
    Place in sterilized quart jars (saving sugar).
    Pour 1/4 cup brandy into each quart.
    Pour syrup over peaches and seal.
    Process in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
    Store for 3 months in cool, dark place before using.
