Applesauce Cake(Radford 1949 Cookbook, Mrs. Minor Wine Thomas) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. strained honey
1/2 c. cooking molasses
2 eggs
2 c. cake flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. nutmeats, broken
1 c. seedless raisins, finely cut
1 c. unsweetened applesauce
Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar.
Blend well.
Add beaten eggs, applesauce, honey and molasses.
Sift dry ingredients together and mix 1/2 cup with raisins and nuts.
Add rest of dry ingredients to the applesauce, then add the floured nuts and raisins.
Turn into waxed paper lined pans and bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour, until done.
