White Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 c. milk
1 c. hot water
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. flour approximately
Preparation

In a large bowl, combine milk, 1 cup water, shortening, sugar and salt.
Mix well.
Add yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup water and 1/2 of the flour.
Beat for 1 minute.
Add enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
Knead until smooth and elastic with bubbles under the surface (10 to 12 minutes).
Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled.
Punch down, cover and let rise again until doubled.
Shape into two loaves and place in greased loaf pans.
Grease top of loaves lightly.
Cover.
Let rise.
Bake 375\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
