Ozark Mountain Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. flour
    4 c. peeled, diced apples
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, well beaten.
    Sift flour with other dry ingredients.
    Stir alternately with apples and vanilla.
    Add nuts.
    Bake in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan for 40 to 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
