Maggie Mae Boone'S Caramel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar (brown and white mixed)
    2/3 c. butter or Crisco
    1 tsp. vanilla (or lemon extract)
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs.
    Add extract.
    Sift together cream of tartar, soda, salt and flour.
    Stir in milk then flour mixture, a small amount at a time.
    Put in refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours.
    Roll out and cut to desired shapes.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven until lightly browned.
    Ovens vary so it is best to test to see when done.
