Stagecoach'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 1/2 c. water
1 stick margarine
3 1/2 c. cornmeal
3/4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar

Preparation

Put water and oleo in a pot and bring to a good boil.
Put other ingredients together in a mixing bowl while water is boiling.
Pour dry ingredients into pot, stirring constantly. Turn heat off as soon as dry ingredients have been added. Stir and mix well.
Hand roll into hush puppies while hot. Fry in hot oil until brown.
