Raisin Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. raisins, cooked and drained
    1/3 c. shortening (part oleo)
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    2/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt shortening.
    Add sugar and mix well.
    Add egg and mix again.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Blend dry ingredients into sugar and egg mixture.
    Add vanilla and raisins and mix well.
    Pour into greased 8-inch pan or double recipe and pour into a 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    You can ice these bars with a thin powdered sugar icing.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
